Art - Italy
Art in Italy is regarded as some of the most beautiful work there is, especially the Renaissance. The Renaissance lasted from 1300 to 1520 and it marked of an era in art history (Piano, 2022). The painters during this era studied a lot of human anatomy, because the knowledge it brought to give the artists the certain figures they needed to complete some of their paintings. With this also came new and improved methods for the creating of paintings. The first creation was egg based tempera and that was the basis of what was to come, next was oil paint as well as the preparation of different surfaces for painting on walls and wooden tables (Zimmerman, Gordon 2022). Some of the most famous paintings during this era from Italy were "Mona Lisa" by Leonardo Da Vinci and "The Last Supper" by Leonardo Da Vinci. Da Vinci had so many famous paintings during this era and they are so famous people are still looking for ways to recreate them to this day. One more famous painter during this era was Michelangelo and one of his most famous paintings was "The Creation of Adam." People in Italy look forward to the many different forms of art that are created in front of their eyes. Relating this information back to the book, one example that I thought fit very well was that culture influences communication. Since art is such an important part of the Italian culture, it has influenced the ways they communicate with others. They have a certain personality and they enjoy being around people just as much as they enjoy being around the beautiful art. (Martin, Nakayama pg.103)
